The association "Massékopé - Village of Hope" is a non-profit charity founded in 2022. Our initial mission is to provide regular meals and medical care to the children of Massékopé and its surroundings. The goal is that they benefit from good educational conditions and can envisage a better future.

Children generally receive a primary education, but after the CEPD (Certificat d'études du premier degré), enrollment declines so dramatically that a very small number reach high school and, more rarely, university. Most go on to apprenticeships. The only assistance children receive from the government is free education. However, parallel contributions are a headache for parents.

We work closely with the village pastor who, thanks to his church, allows us to receive/distribute food and organize medical visits. The church called "Baptiste la Régénération" is implanted since 2015 with as main objective the evangelization and the Christian education of the children.

The village was built around 1800 by the patriarch Massé who gave birth to 5 sons and daughters whose descendants populate the village today, to which have also been added the descendants of other ancestors who had found hospitality in the home of old Massé. The village has an elementary school, a college of general education (CEG), and a peripheral care unit.

Massékoppé is located 4 kilometers north of the town of Vogan, capital of the VO prefecture in the maritime region.
